IPTV on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad: apps and setup

To watch IPTV on Apple TV, iPhone or iPad, you install a player from the App Store and sign in with the details of your weweb IPTV subscription. Apple devices do not use MAC-address uploads like many smart TVs: you type an Xtream login or paste an M3U link directly in the app. This page completes our IPTV setup guide for the Apple world.

It is a common setup for Moroccans abroad who already live with an iPhone and an Apple TV, and for expats in Marrakech or Tangier who want their IPTV Morocco line on the same devices they use every day.

How IPTV on Apple TV works

Apple does not include an IPTV player in tvOS or iOS, so you add one from the App Store. These apps are players only: they show your channels, the TV guide, films and series after you sign in with the details we send you. No jailbreak and no special settings are needed.

Apple devices handle video very well, including 4K on an Apple TV 4K connected to a 4K television. The picture you get still depends on the channel and on your connection; see internet speed for IPTV.

Choosing a player in the App Store

Search the App Store for "IPTV player" and look at the app's description: it must mention Xtream Codes (or "Xtream API") or M3U playlists. Well-known players that accept these formats include IPTVX, iPlayTV (Apple TV), GSE Smart IPTV and the Smarters player published by the developer of IPTV Smarters Pro. Several of them install on both iPhone and Apple TV.

Some players are free with optional in-app purchases, others are paid apps. The price, when there is one, is set by the app developer and shown on the App Store page; it is separate from your subscription. If you are unsure which one to take, tell us your device on WhatsApp and we suggest one.

Set up IPTV on Apple TV step by step

    1. 1

On the Apple TV, open the App Store, search for the player you chose and select Get (or the price).

    2. 2

Open the app and choose to add a source, playlist or account. Pick Xtream Codes / Xtream API if it is offered.

    3. 3

Enter a name, the server URL (with http:// and the port), your username and your password, exactly as written in our WhatsApp message.

    4. 4

Tip: many tvOS apps let you type with the iPhone keyboard. When the text field opens, a notification on your iPhone lets you paste the value directly.

    5. 5

Save and wait for the channels, films and series to load.

    6. 6

Open the Moroccan group, play Al Aoula or 2M, then add your favourites.

If the app only offers M3U, paste the M3U link instead. What each format means is explained on Xtream Codes and IPTV M3U.

    IPTV on iPhone and iPad

    1. 1

Install the same player from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

    2. 2

Open our WhatsApp message, long-press the username and choose Copy.

    3. 3

Switch to the player, choose Add playlist → Xtream, and paste each value in its field: name, server URL, username, password.

    4. 4

Save. The channel list loads in a few seconds on a good 4G or Wi-Fi connection.

    5. 5

Turn the phone sideways for full screen. On iPad, split view lets you follow a match while you chat.

Watching on 4G uses mobile data quickly. For long sessions, prefer Wi-Fi, or lower the stream quality in the player's settings if it offers that option.

AirPlay from iPhone to the television

If your TV supports AirPlay (many recent Samsung and LG sets do) or you have an Apple TV, you can start a channel on the iPhone and send it to the big screen with the AirPlay button in the player. It is handy for guests, but a player installed directly on the Apple TV gives a more stable picture and frees your phone.

AirPlay counts as one stream. If you keep watching on the phone while someone watches the TV with a separate session, that is two streams, and every plan plays one at a time.

    Common issues on Apple devices

    Login refused

Check http:// (not https://), the port and capitals. Pasted values sometimes carry a space at the end.

    Black screen on some channels

Switch the player engine in the app's settings if it offers one, or try the other stream format.

    Guide empty

Refresh the EPG in the app; if it stays empty, ask us for the guide link of your line.

    Playback stops on the iPhone

Low Power Mode and weak 4G cut streams. Use Wi-Fi and see IPTV troubleshooting.

Which plan for Apple TV and iPhone

For one Apple TV or one iPhone, Standard (300 DH) covers HD and Full HD. For an Apple TV 4K on a 4K television, Premium (450 DH) shows 4K where the channel broadcasts in 4K. To install the access on both the Apple TV and an iPhone, VIP (600 DH) covers 1 or 2 devices, used one at a time, with the bigger catalogue.

Ask for the free 24-hour test on WhatsApp (+212 6 03 36 55 75) to try your player first. Paid access arrives within 1 hour, 24 h at most.

Can I send weweb channels from my iPhone to the TV with AirPlay?

Yes, with an Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible TV, using the AirPlay button in the player. A player installed directly on the Apple TV gives a steadier picture and leaves your phone free.
